Before your diaries get filled I would like to give you advance notice of a “PASS IT ON!” day that will take place at Bishop Challoner School on Saturday 12th February 2011, from 9am until 4pm. The course will be presented by Michelle Moran from the Sion Catholic Community for Evangelism. Michelle is also a member of the Pontifical Council of the Laity.
Jesus called us to spread the Good News of the gospel, but if we’re honest, most of us find it difficult to share our faith with others. We need help. The “PASS IT ON!” day will hopefully give us that help. Presented in a clear and direct style, it shows why sharing our faith is so important and then gives practicable advice on how we can go about doing it.
Some of us can be very private when it comes to our faith and feel uneasy hearing Jesus say that we are to be fishers of men. We can feel threatened thinking that we are not that sort of person, or feel embarrassed and maybe fearful of criticism and that it’s best left to the “experts” like me!
I can appreciate people having these fears and would thoroughly recommend the “PASS IT ON!” day as amongst the topics covered will be: witnessing by the way we live, preparing our faith story and communicating the basic gospel message.
I really hope that you will make a note of Sat 12th Feb 2011 in your diaries and that you will make every effort to attend. The day is being funded by the Pastoral Area and there will be no charge. This day is for all of those in our Pastoral Area.
